Silverio C’s 1970 Camaro RS

Built From The Ground Up

Silverio C’s 1970 Camaro RS

This 1970 Camaro was bought by Silverio in January 2016 and he completed it in May 2019.

This 1970 Camaro started life as an RS model, inline 6 cylinder with a 3 speed transmission. When he found it, it had no motor or tranny, no front end except for the frame, no interior and was in primer. He built this car with a resto-mod/pro-touring focus.

It now has a Chevy 12 bolt positraction rear with 3.55 Richmond Gears with c-clip eliminators and Wilwood 12.19 4-piston disc brakes. A 4 speed Muncie M20 transmission mated to a Chevy 496 via a Lakewood Blowproof Bellhousing and Centerforce 2 clutch. To get all the power to the ground he had the rear suspension as follows: Hotchkis 1.5” drop leaf springs, adjustable 3/4” rear sway bar, Koni shocks and Lakewood traction bars.

The front suspension is UMI upper & lower tubular A-arms, a 1-1/4” front sway bar, full front end rebuild kit with Hotchkis 2” drop springs and Wilwood 12.19 6-piston disc brakes with a Wilwood Master Cylinder & proportioning valve.

The rims on this 1970 Camaro are 18×8 & 18×10 Intro Westcoast wheels. The 496 has a Molnar 4.25 forged crank with Molnar forged 6.385 H-beam rods. Lunati Voodoo Hydraulic Roller cam, Wiseco pistons, Lunati Rockers, Holley 850 carb with a full CVF Racing All-Inclusive serpentine belt system.

The interior is stock style seats with Vintage Air, Budnik steering wheel, billet window cranks and accents, a vintage-looking modern radio, Dakota Digital VHX gauges and a Digital Guard Dawg push-button ignition. All new wiring from American Autowire. All the chrome and stainless trim have been either powder coated or painted satin black and the car itself is painted Porsche Aqua Blue Metallic.

Overall, Silverio spared no expense to make this 1970 Camaro perform to the best of it’s abilities!
