Glen L’S 1967 Chevelle SS396

Built From The Ground Up

Glen L’S 1967 Chevelle SS396

This Bolero Red 1967 Chevelle is a “one family” owned car. Glen’s father purchased this ’67 new back in March of 1967 in Sacramento, California, and later passed it down to Glen when he was only 13 years old.

Glen held on to the car while he completed college and began working in the real world. After some time, he went on to completely restore the car to show quality by the year 2000. It retains the original 396 big block with some light upgrades in aluminum heads, a roller motor, and several Edelbrock components.

The exhaust system has been enhanced with a set of Hooker headers connecting to a Flowmaster exhaust system, bringing the roar of the 396 to life. The transmission has been upgraded to a venerable Tremec 5 speed unit, which helps to make those long trips that much more enjoyable along with the Posi-traction 3.55 gear ratio in the differential. There is the possibility of a fuel injection system being added in the future.
The braking system also needed to be upgraded, and front power disc brakes were installed to aid in stopping power. Suspension components received minor updates in tubular control arms, and larger front & rear sway bars keep this car planted on the road during those long trips.

The best part of owning this ‘67 SS is knowing that it’s a one family owned car. I like the fact that in 1967 the Chevelle has a one of a kind body style and design different from all other Chevelles.

Glen plans to continue driving and enjoying this ’67 SS with his father for many years to come.
