Troy K’s 1966 Nova

Troy K’s 1966 Nova

This 1966 Nova was just another forgotten Chevy sitting in a field rotting away ten years ago. Troy and his father were tipped off about the existence of this Nova from a friend, so they went to check it out.

What they found was typical of the situation, a rotting shell that was missing nearly everything. There was no engine, no transmission, rear end, interior, nothing. Undeterred, they loaded the 1966 Nova up on the trailer and headed home.

The work began with brand new quarter panels, a complete floor pan, trunk pan, and frame rails being cut and welded into place. Once sheet metal work was taken care of, they sourced a 327 small block and paired it to a TH350 with a 3.36 posi-traction rear end.

This 1966 Nova restoration project is special to Troy because of the quality time he spent with his father. The fact that they completed the work by themselves in their two-car garage is something he’s proud of. Now that the 1966 Nova is finished, for the time being, they plan on taking it cruising and out to the local car show scene.
