Michael J’s 1969 Nova

Built From The Ground Up

Michael J’s 1969 Nova

Michael’s first car was a Chevy Nova, and coincidentally so was his wife’s. When the pair spotted this 1969 Nova sitting forgotten in a yard in North Carolina with a for sale sign on it a few years ago, they took it as a sign. They had both wanted to restore a classic Nova, and what better opportunity than this.

They purchased this 1969 Nova SS 350 and got right to work on a frame-off restoration. The pair opted to go the route of resto-modding this 1969 Nova, and no spot on this car was left untouched. They refreshed the 350 Chevy small block with an aluminum intake and 4-barrel carburetor and added a custom fabricated exhaust to make sure everyone can hear it.

Michael chose to tub and shorten the rear end in order to fit wider Micky Thompsons in the rear, which sit on Vintage Forged custom wheels. Stopping power has been upgraded to a four-wheel disc brake system to keep the balance with the other go-fast upgrades. A stall converter was added to the TH350 transmission for better off-the-line launches as well.

This 1969 Nova allows the Jennings to relive their younger days, and they plan on many Sunday drives and car show appearances with it in the future. Michael states,

“It takes me and my wife back to our youth as we both had a Nova as a starter car. We love driving it and showing it and the reactions we get when people see it.”
