Frank had been trying to buy this 1969 Camaro from his colleague for years when he finally relented one day in 2010. He drove it for a number of years before starting a restoration in 2016.
The Camaro was a driver when Frank first took possession of it from his friend. It was a forest green on green equipped with a 307 small block and Powerglide automatic. The catalyst for the restoration was Frank’s son backing through the garage door and into the front end of this Camaro.
Not to be defeated, Frank took the opportunity to make some desired changes to the Camaro while he had the ability. His wife hated the green colorway so it was the perfect chance to change the color inside and out. He and a good friend would go on to paint it in a homemade paint booth in his back yard, while the rest of the car was restored in his home garage. They also swapped the powertrain to a 350 small block making 325 horsepower to the wheels.
Since completing the restoration, Frank’s been eager to drive the refreshed Camaro. So far, he’s road tripped through PA, MD, and NH among other states.
