Larry S’s 1967 Chevelle SS396

Built From The Ground Up

Larry S’s 1967 Chevelle SS396

This is Larry’s second 1967 Chevelle SS396 that he purchased in 2017 from a friend who bought it off the original owner and restored it.

He got his first ’67 when he was just 17 years old in 1968, but unfortunately had to sell it soon afterward to attend college. He has dreamed of owning another ever since then.

This particular ’67 has been sitting for many years after blowing the original 396 and having it replaced with a 350 small block and TH350 transmission.

However, Larry’s friend Richard had a great base to work with on the restoration. This 1967 Chevelle retains all of its original sheet metal and glass, and only required mechanical restoration of the running gear.

“Getting behind the wheel just brought back every memory I ever had with the Chevelle I owned back in 1968.”

Larry

It is currently equipped with a 454 big block bored .30 over, and while it still has the TH350 automatic transmission, Larry plans to soon replace that with a period correct M22 4-speed Muncie.
