Frankie and the family found this 1963 Nova online a few years ago in 2016 and they all knew this would be the perfect project. So they drove the 11 hours one way with a trailer to pick it up and bring it home.
Frankie had previously had a few 2 doors in the past, but this 1963 Nova was a 4 door. It was perfect for the kids so they wouldn’t have to climb all over the car and everyone could have their own door.
The 4 door 1963 Nova build resulted in a 350 small block bored .030 over, with a steel crank and heavy duty rods. They went with a 268 comp cam and built heads. The icing on the cake are an Edelbrock performer intake and Holley carburetor.
Frankie wanted to make sure that even though they had a few extra doors, they could still have fun. Putting that power to use was a TH350 with a shift kit and a Hughes 2500 RPM stall converter.
There’s not a ton left to improve on with this 1963 Nova build, but Frankie says that they would like to replace the front clip with a newer style setup in the future.
