Tony A’s 1977 Camaro

Built From The Ground Up

Tony A’s 1977 Camaro

Tony’s son found this 1977 Camaro in 2014 to get his mind off his father’s recent cancer diagnosis. This 1977 Camaro was in rough shape, being a mish mash of different colors and parts, thus Tony decided to take it in the direction of an old school hot rod.

It is powered by a 350 small block featuring a mild cam upgrade, roller rockers, and a few other treats. He actually already had this engine built on a test stand and figured it would be perfect for the project. It’s shifted via a 4-speed transmission with a Vertigate shifter.

The pair still have some body work to complete before the 1977 Camaro can go in for the final paint job, but one aspect they both really like is the 1970 RS split bumper conversion that they installed.

“I have always been a Chevy man. I have had several car and still have 3 – C3 Corvettes. I have always wanted one of these body style Camaro’s to hot rod.”

Tony

The Camaro is always in the process of needing something else, Tony still needs to touch on some of the finer details such as windshield wipers and window hardware and is also considering a new dash among other things.
