Jim took two winters to restore this 1965 Chevelle back to original.
The 1965 Chevelle was a full frame off rotisserie restoration that involved a whole new floor and full quarter panels.
He also invested in a complete respray in the original Aqua color. All of the mechanical components were also rebuilt.
“Unusual color, nice year.”

This particular Chevelle Malibu has a small block 283 making 195 horsepower, so essentially it was equipped with the base V8 engine and mated to a Powerglide transmission. Jim also has another 1965 Chevelle, except that car is a Red SS with a Trick Flow built engine, 12 bolt rear end with 3.73 gearing, a Muncie M22 Rock Crusher transmission, and a slew of suspension upgrades. These two 65s couldn’t be further apart.
He can fully enjoy the benefits that both his resto-mod and stock cruiser bring to the table, it just depends on what he wants to do on a given day.
