This 1967 Chevelle is Ken’s first ’67 and most recent completed project. He’s always owned Super Sport Chevelle’s, but never had a 1967 yet.
Before the 1967 Chevelle, he had a mint 1969 Chevelle SS that was sold back in 1981 in order for Ken to buy a van for $2800 and start his electrical contracting business.
“30 + years later my business owed me a super sport. I never had a ‘67 and always wanted one.”
When he found this 1967 Chevelle, it had a weak engine and Ken knew it’d be replaced immediately. As he drove it home, the motor gave out just as he reached his driveway. He had to have a neighbor help push the Chevelle into the garage.
Ken took the opportunity to replace the blown motor with a crate 454 coupled with Holley Sniper fuel injection. The existing Richmond T-10 4 speed transmission was still fine, so he left that as it was. However, Ken chose to add a 4 wheel disc brake conversion and a new 3 inch stainless exhaust as well as air conditioning.
“When you drive this car and open it up it is a thrill that takes me back to when I was 18 years old. I will always own a super sport Chevelle the thrill is amazing.”
Ken plans to find another Super Sport project, because this 1967 Chevelle SS is done.
