James bought this 1966 Chevelle in 1975 after he had just sold one in 1973 when he got out of the army.
However, after crying for 2 years that he no longer had a Chevelle his wife gave him the green light to buy another. So that is when the decision was made in 1975 after he had seen this 1966 Chevelle for 1000$ in a gas station.
He drove it as is until 1986 when he decided to take it off the road and start restoring it. But, as life goes, the 1966 Chevelle sat in the garage blown out into a million pieces until 2010. He then was retired and focused his attention to finish a frame-off restoration on the SuperSport 138 code car. He has since had the car appraised by a professional for an upwards figure of 58,500.00$.
Some specs on the Chevelle are as follows, an OEM M21 4 speed manual transmission, and an original 396 that had been rebuilt 2 years ago. Tastefully modified making close to 475hp.
What makes the car very special to James is his daughter come home from the hospital in it 45 years ago!
Up to date, he takes the Chevelle to a lot of car shows and has a fair share of trophies to prove it!
I go to a lot of car shows and have a lot of trophies. He plans on buying a new radiator from us here at Ground Up. He remarks he will never sell the car as it goes to his two Daughters Lena and Barbara.
