Chris’s father’s buddy had this 1969 Chevelle in high school and worked on it with his father back in the late 80s.
The car was taken completely apart to do a frame-off resto. They got the car apart, started putting it back together, drove it around the block with it being barely back together.
Then it sat for 37 years in a storage unit. His father’s friend contacted his dad around a year ago asking if he wanted to buy the Chevelle. His father said, “absolutely not”.
Chris overheard the conversation and ended up buying it. It’s a Lemans blue 1969 Chevelle SS 396 4 speed car. Supposedly an L78 but there is no documentation to prove it.
So Chris now has a rare 1969 Chevelle with old Polaroid pictures, from the 80s of his father and his friend building this Chevelle in the driveway and the shop. So it has sentimental value of family and friend history with the picture to prove it
The Motor is a 396 bored .060 over. Forged internals. 10.25:1 compression. LS5 cam (old school). Rectangular port heads. Single plane Torker manifold. Transmission is an M22 Muncie. The rear end is out of a 70 LS6 with 4.11s
Chris is in the process of building the car back up with his father so that alone is adding more to the sentimental factor. He loves the stock look of the exterior, and interior but is going for a beefed-up motor and drivetrain.
