Gerard purchased this 1970 Nova from a salvage yard in 1982.
The story behind this car is my granddaughter was born weighing 1 1/2 pounds and she was diagnosed with congenital heart disease, she spent 29 weeks in hospital and went home at 3 pounds.
When she was little she would sit quietly in front of the tv and watch the Cars movie. At 15 months she had open-heart surgery.
So he painted the car like Lightning McQueen and she loved it, and it’s still painted the same today. She started to drive with him at age 7. When they would go to car shows he would let her sign the entry form and she has won numerous awards.
She is now 16 and she still loves it and will not let him change it.
