This 1970 Chevelle is David’s third Chevelle. He sold his last one 25 years ago. He wanted to restore one after his children had grown because he did not have time.
He looked for quite a long time and specifically wanted a 1970 Chevelle that had a solid frame. He literally found this in a barn about 50 miles from his house. The gentlemen selling it had bought it to restore. However, it was more work than he thought and wanted to sell it.
He bought it and brought it home the next day and, then the work started. That was 6 years ago. It is finally done! He has no documentation except it started its life as a 1970 Chevelle V8 sport coupe. He set out with a vision of how he wanted the car to look inside and out.
He remembers his friends and him customizing so many different cars when he was younger. He wanted to put his signature on the car and make it his own. A special car. A one of one. He thinks he’s achieved that.
He went with a 383 Stroker, 350 Turbo transmission was completely rebuilt with a custom torque converter. They put an aluminum radiator and, transmission cooler. All of the suspension was replaced. It was completely rewired. Almost all of the sheet metal and body panels have been replaced.
The interior is custom with exterior matched color stitching and a Dakota Digital dash. The exterior is painted Cinnamon.
He plans on never selling the car. It has been a labor of love and, he really enjoys driving it. He does not think there will be any major modifications made in the future.
