As a foreign student at Ferris State College in Big Rapids, he ordered this 1980 Camaro in November of 1979 at Berger Chevrolet in Grand Rapids.
The car ordered was a 1980 Camaro V8 305 engine, 4-speed manual transmission, gauge package, and some minor options. The exterior was dark claret and the interior carmine.
Mat B was the person who sold him the 1980 Camaro, and he picked it up May 1st, 1980. One week before leaving the USA to go back home to Curaçao. To ship the car to Curaçao, he needed to drive 1500 miles from Big Rapid Michigan to Miami. That trip took 2.5 days, first stop Nashville, second stop Orlando. He’s still the first owner of the car. He made modifications to the body but tried to keep it as original as possible.
The engine is a V8 305 rebuild for extra horsepower: Flat top piston, crane cam, magnum roller bars, cylinder head 58cc valves 194/50, Weiand intake manifold, 6AL MSD, original 4-speed manual transmission, and positraction carriers.
It is one or maybe the only 1980 Camaro in excellent condition still once a while on the road of Curaçao.
With his age of 74, and a car with a 4-speed manual transmission, selling it may be an option.
