James W’s 1964 Chevelle

Built From The Ground Up

James W’s 1964 Chevelle

James had been putting off buying a classic car for years because his garages were too small to accommodate a classic. Last year he was searching for cars from 1964. He came across this 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS convertible located in Savannah. He drove down and bought it and drove it back to Myrtle Beach. The car was manufactured in Philly and was sold in NJ. It is a true SS Malibu.

This car went through a complete restoration in 2005. The original owner lived in NJ and sadly passed away. The interesting story is that the second owner lived in the same neighborhood as the first. They would always ask him if he wanted to sell it but he always refused. Then the second owner received a notice that the first owner passed and willed the car to him.

The second owner started a complete restoration. After completion James is not sure what happened but he decided to sell the car and, the third owner purchased it and shipped it to Savanna. Where he continued to perform more changes to the interior and the engine with powder coating and other cosmetic changes.

The original engine on the 1964 Chevelle was a six-cylinder power glide transmission. The engine replaced a 1965 327 L79 with a mild cam and, the transmission was swapped out with a TH350. The engine was also modified with HEI distributor and headers w/ Magnaflow exhaust. The front brakes were upgraded to disc and an after-market AC was installed.

The 1964 Chevelle has power steering, power brakes, and AC which makes this car a dream to drive. The electric convertible top also is a great feature. It has embroidered seats with SS. It is a real eye-catcher with blue paint and white top and Cragar Mags.

He has to change out the brake line system with new metal and modify the vacuum system due to the cam.

"You always have what I need for my car and priced right with fast shipping. "
