Mark has owned his 1969 Camaro Z/28 since he was in high school. He purchased the car in March of 1975 for $1000.00. He used this car for his senior year in High School and for two years of college. This car was his overall transportation as well as the car he used to tow his 19-foot boat.
He tells everyone that he’s had the same car a 1969 Camaro, and the same girl (his wife for 42 years and going out for 47 years) since High School. This is a unique story that gets the attention of everyone. The car has 47,000 original miles, and it maintains a stock 302 engine and drivetrain. With all original or NOS replacement part
He took the car off the road in 1977 and started working on the first restoration while he was making 4.00 dollars an hour. He competed in his first show in October 1978 as the car was basically not even a classic at the time.
He maintained the car throughout the years, and he is glad he never sold it as it is now just a family artifact. The car was repainted in 2001, and it had a full mechanical restoration back in 2012.
He used all Ground Up parts to restore this car to its original stock condition. The car has been a part of his life from 18 years old to his current age of 65. This car will remain in his family as part of a historical asset.
It is a 5th week of August production car X33D80 with its first green, black stripes, black vinyl top, and standard interior.
No special plans except to drive it and continue to take it to local street fairs and shows. He love’s to tell people the history and the 47 years of ownership.
