Jacob M’s 1971 Monte Carlo

Built From The Ground Up

Jacob M’s 1971 Monte Carlo

Well, the 1971 Monte Carlo was Jacob’s fathers, but there is much more to it. In 2003 his father bought a 1972 Custom Monte Carlo 402 Big Block. It was a ram with a black top and black guts. The car was beautiful. Jacob absolutely fell in love with the car. Being only 6 years old it really turned him onto muscle cars.

His father sold the car a few years later when he fell onto hard times, always saying he would buy another.

Well, it’s the fall of 2013, and he found one, robins egg blue 71. Factory 400/400 car. Super cool, in good shape, runs, and drives. Needs final assembly after getting quick body and paint done on it.

Fast forward to 2019, and my dad needs to sell it to close on his camp. Now he’ll never be able to buy the original one back because the fella who owns it now says he will never part with it.

But he was sure he wasn’t going to let this one slip away.

Here they are three years later with a fresh motor, transmission, and rear-end rebuild. Ready to get the 1971 Monte Carlo going for the summer.

The motor on the 1971 Monte Carlo is nothing special, TBI heads on a .020 over block with an RV cam and fair banks shift kit. It’s a factory 400/400 car. The car needs an entire interior, so that is his next step. Start collecting parts for that piece by piece.

"First time shopping with you guys, would totally shop again. The customer service was fantastic. "
