Steven D’s 1973 Nova

Built From The Ground Up

Steven D’s 1973 Nova

Steven First got the 1973 Nova in the early 1990s when his oldest daughter who will be 40 years old this year wasn’t even a teenager at that time but due to a factory that he worked at for 12 years closing down, and at that time work was very hard to find around here, so due to finances Steven made the decision to sell the 1973 Nova around 2006, it changed ownership two or three times and 2 years ago due to a guy that Steven went to grade school with letting him know his cousin had his old 1973 Nova and thought that Steven could buy it back, so he went to his cousin’s house, bought his old 1973 Nova back and it’s now been at the fabrication shop getting many modifications and all new flooring, and many other things are done to the 1973 Nova.

After Steven gets the 1973 Nova back from the fabrication shop he will do his end of it and work on getting it done and making it better than it’s ever been. The Fabricators Nathan Russell who used to work for Jesse James at the Austin Speed Shop in Texas at one time and James Welsh are very professional and very honest and Steven would recommend them to anybody. Their work and honesty are very much appreciated, they are two good guys that would do anybody a very professional job and are good people.

The engine is a built 355 small block that is around 400 or so horsepower, the block is a high nickel 010 4 bolt block, has Keith black flat top pistons, Childs and Albert rings, oil holes are chamfered in the crankshaft for better oil flow, as a high volume melting heavy duty oil pump with hardened and drive shaft, has Clevite 77 bearings, the engine is fully balanced, has a double roller timing chain and gears, heads are 461 casting double humps, they’re shaved 0.30 , block was decked, the heads have a multi-angle valve job,2.02 & 1.60 stainless steel valves, hardened seats, full roller rockers, big block screw in studs, bronze guides, heavy duty performance valve springs, hardened pushrods, push rod guide plates, Speed Pro anti pump up lifters, Weiand aluminum water pump, MSD Pro Billet distributor, MSD ignition box, MSD spark plug wires, road race type oil pan with windage tray, putting new mid-length ceramic coated headers on , and a tunnel ram with two 600 Brawler vacuum secondary carbs., the transmission is a rebuilt turbo 350, putting a 2700 to 3000 RPM stall converter in it, also Steven installed a street strip shift kit in the valve body, also have a deep aluminum transmission pan which will be installed after the engine and transmission are back in the Nova.

Steve’s 19723 Nova is just another 1973 SS Nova, but it is very sentimental and is very special in the way that the Fabricator’s ideas and his own should make it a pretty cool Nova that will be a little different than the average one.

Steve’s plans are to get it done roll the windows down have fun cruising and listening to some cool driving, cruising music, get together with his friends and their street rods, hot rods, cruising, park on the street, and just enjoy each other’s company, going to cruise in and so forth.
