Kevin had always wanted a Nova, remembering his buddy having one growing up. He had tried to purchase his buddy’s Nova for a while, but it wouldn’t ever work out. So, after years passed and after owning a few Malibus and Fox Bodies, Kevin finally had an opportunity to get his hands on a Nova. He knew a guy that had this 1974 Nova, and he would trade the G-body Malibu for it.
Next, Kevin started the car’s transformation. It took almost 3 years to get it to its current stage.
The engine is a ZZ-383 Gm performance crate engine. It has 425hp and 450 ft lbs. of torque. Kevin added all msd ignition and a Holley Street avenger carb. It has ceramic coated long tubes with x pipe and Flowmaster mufflers and the transmission is a TKX Tremec 5 spd with Billet Flywheel, Lakewood Bell and performance stage 2 clutch rear is the 8.5 with 3.73 gears and posi unit. It also has Lakewood traction bars subframe connectors, as well as drag radials on rear with Jegs ssr spike wheels body, which is painted the original bright green poly. It also has all factory moldings; interior includes a black bench and black upholstery.
The 1974 Nova only has 51,000 original miles. Kevin has all the factory dealership paperwork and the build sheet. He also added a newer style am/fm stereo with speakers front and rear.
The Nova is unique because it’s the last year of the 3rd generation and because it only has 51,000 miles on the clock!
Kevin is considering adding a fuel injection and/or possibly a turbocharger. He might also add disc brakes. For now, he is just enjoying the fruits of his labor and taking the ’74 Nova to car shows.
