David was driving out in the country when he spotted an 1970 El Camino out in a field. It had no engine, no transmission, and no interior. He bought it from a farmer and took it home. It took him 16 years to completely restore it in his garage. It was a full frame off restoration.
The El Camino has a 600 hp 454 engine with a 700 r4 transmission. It had a new rack and pinion steering installed. David changed the rear end gear ratio to 390, and he replaced and upgraded the suspension. He also installed an Edelbrock port fuel injection, and he did all the work in his garage all by himself.
The paint job on the ‘70 El Camino is flawless and draws attention everywhere David goes. People frequently ask him to sell it to them!
One day, David plans to put in a Whipple Charger.
