There was an elderly man in New York who owned a vast collection of cars, including this 1970 Chevelle. However, as he prepared to sell his property, he realized he needed to tidy up his yard.
He had been working on this particular 1970 Chevelle for quite some time, transforming it into an SS model. The car had originally been a Malibu from Canada, boasting a blue exterior with a black vinyl top.
In 2013, the 1970 Chevelle made its way to Sweden where it caught the eye of a new owner – the first to possess this fantastic piece of American muscle car history. The car is still in Mat’s garage, and he takes it for a spin every opportunity he gets, provided the weather is pleasant.
The original 350 engine is still in his possession, having been replaced a couple of years ago by a 396 engine, which now bears the name “396 SS” on the fenders. The Th400 transmission was still in good condition, and he opted to replace the 3:73 ratio with a calmer 3:31. Additionally, the Centerline wheels were swapped for steel SS rims, giving the car an even more stylish look.
For now, he has no immediate plans to make any further changes to the 1970 Chevelle. It will remain in its current state for the time being, continuing to impress those who come across it.
