Phil’s good friend Jack, the owner of Past & Present Motor Cars in the Orlando area, where Phil lives gave him a call. He told him they had his dream car coming in! Which is a 1970 Chevelle SS LS6 in red, with black stripes!
Phil told him that he wanted to see the car. So Jack told him the car was being delivered tonight, and if he wanted he could see the car as it comes off the trailer. So Phil went to the shop that night to help the shipper unload the car, so he could inspect it. It had every option Phil was looking for, and at that point, he knew he needed this car! Phil was able to agree on a price with the owner, he applied for financing, and he was able to purchase his “Dream Chevelle” before it hit their website! It’s going on four years now.
The car has its numbers matching born with a 454ci/450hp big block Chevy engine with the GM high-performance rectangle port heads, GM aluminum intake manifold, and Holley 780 carburetor. The car also retains the factory Munice M-22 4-speed “Rock Crusher” transmission. The car is also equipped with a cowl induction hood, the U14 tach and gauge package, bucket seats with center console, and a 12 bolt posi rear.
Phil’s future plans and goals with the car are to continue to search for OEM original parts with correct date codes for the build date of his car. He loves taking his Chevelle to local car shows and cruise-ins as well. His main goal though, is to keep this car in his family, and to give it to his daughter one day! Lucky kid!
