A friend of Brian’s who worked for the NHRA Safety Safari at the time found him this really clean 1969 Camaro Z/28 from someone who didn’t have knowledge of old Chevys.
Brian took him up on the tip and flew out to upstate Illinois where the Camaro was residing 18 years ago. Upon taking a closer look at the Camaro, Brian and his friend realized that this car came with a Muncie transmission and the rare JL8 4 pot disc brake option, a nice come-up for sure.
This is very much an original, restored numbers matching Z/28 with the original 302 high revving small block and M22 rock crusher Muncie 4 speed.
The restoration of this Camaro took approximately 2.5 years and it has held up well. Brian drives just about every weekend, as long as weather permits, through Southern California. This Camaro has become well known for cruising the roads in the area.
Brian plans on enjoying the Camaro as a driver for a while, eventually planning on gifting it to his firefighter son.
