This 1970 Nova is Chris’s second Nova, his first being a 1974 which blew a motor in 1990. Ever since he parted ways with that first Nova he’s had the urge to own another.
Fast forward to 2017, and Chris was online browsing Novas when he found this example for sale in Atlanta, GA. He got in contact with the seller and decided to pull the trigger so he could finally get back in the seat of a Nova to grow old with this time. He is now the third owner of this 1970 Nova with 70k original miles.
“After regretting letting go of my first one in 1990, it was time to have another to grow old with.”
Chris
Originally painted Mist Green, the second owner had at one point repainted it in Viper Yellow. Chris also determined that they had done some mild modifications to the engine, which was a 350 small block bored .10 over into a 355, paired to a 3-speed auto on the floor being handled by a B&M Star Shifter. The previous owner had also swapped in a larger cam and machined heads.
He is currently in the process of turning this Nova into a pro-tourer with all new suspension and a new wheel/tire setup to increase the handling and road feel. The transmission could also use a service in the near future, as it has developed a slight leak, but nothing too major.
