Dave R’s 1969 El Camino

Built From The Ground Up

Dave R’s 1969 El Camino

How often do you hear about these cars hitting over 500,000 miles? Well, this 1969 El Camino has done it and it is still going strong.

Dave’s father bought this ’69 El Camino brand new and it’s been in the family ever since. Dave himself owned a ’71 model, so it was only natural for his father to pass it along to him when he was done with it in 1981.

Since day 1 in Dave’s possession it has always been a “project”. He was the one to bring it over the 500k mark and decided to retire the old workhorse for a while. It’s sat for about 20 years while he waited for his own son to want to start a resto-mod project.

The 500 thousand mile 396 big block is bored .60 over, paired to a Muncie 4 speed, and mechanically refreshed for many more miles of duty. All this El Camino really needs is some body work and a special paint job.
