This 1985 El Camino was passed along to Don L. from his father earlier this year. Don’s been a huge fan of El Caminos ever since his teenage years when he used to own a 1971.
This particular 1985 El Camino is a well-worn driver. It currently has a ’79 front end installed, and the “hot rod black” paint keeps it looking pretty inconspicuous. Other subtle custom touches are a rear license plate relocation and side trim delete.
He chose to keep it simple with a basic small block 350, auto trans with a shift kit, 12 bolt positraction rear and 3.73 gears, a tried and true recipe for fun and power.
Don’s motto is “less is more”, so there won’t be any flashy chrome or flames to be found on this hot rod El Camino.
