Doug M’s 1969 El Camino

Built From The Ground Up

Doug M’s 1969 El Camino

This 1969 El Camino was a total wreck in Doug’s brother’s towing yard back in 1990. There it sat for about 25 years before anything was done with it.

Doug brought it to a friend’s body shop around 2015 thinking they would work on the El Camino, but he was wrong. Ultimately that “friend” took him for $2100, did no work, and more or less stole a bunch of parts from him.

He then took the 1969 El Camino back and severed ties. Over the span of the next several years Doug would finish the body work and ordered parts through Ground Up SS396.com to finally get the El Camino back in shape.

Now that it is complete once again, Doug plans on just cruising and enjoying the ride after such a long journey. Eventually he’ll give it to his daughter.
