Dwayne was looking for years for a 1967 Nova II and was not having any luck finding the car/project that he was ready to purchase. Until one of his co-workers sent him a link to a 1965 Chevelle that was for sale.
He reached out to the owner and was told that he had a guy coming from Kentucky to look at it. So he figured it was just not meant to be. Dwayne admits that he was pleasantly surprised when he was told that the guy that was set to buy the vehicle was a no-show.
So he and his wife drove 2.5 hours to look at the car. When they pulled into the driveway the car was completely intact and in very good condition. Upon arriving they found out that he was the original owner and it also has the original fender skirts. So, he handed him the keys, and he started this sleeping beast for the first time.
He drove it around his farm and then finalized the transaction. They loaded the car up, and away they went. It had been well taken care of and was equipped with a 327 300hp, his original intention was to turn it into a nice street rod but has since decided to leave it as close to the original as possible.
He is planning on redoing the suspension on the front of the car and adding disc brakes. The long term will be to address any issues on the floors and trunk.
