Evan C’s 1968 Nova

Built From The Ground Up

Evan C’s 1968 Nova

Evan is only 24 years old and has been looking for a classic muscle car to buy ever since he was a kid. His dad has owned a ’67 Chevelle his whole life, and it really motivated him to look for a car of his own.

Eventually, Evan’s dad’s friend was selling a Nova that had no engine, no transmission, no brakes, missing bumpers, windows, and factory wiring. He decided to look the Nova over, and finally bit the bullet and bought it. Ever since that day, he’s been doing hours of research and work to get his Nova back on the road again.

Evan’s Nova has a SBC 350 with a TH350 transmission. It is mostly stock with a little bigger cam, roller lifters, electric fan, HEI distributor, and an Edelbrock 600 carb.

Evan says he knows his car isn’t very special, but he’s very proud of it. He started from basically just a body shell that rolled. Then he did all new wiring, rebuilt an SBC, new suspension, front disc brakes, a shock relocation kit, subframe connectors, and a rear sway bar. Along with all the small items to get it drivable and safe. Eventually, Evan plans to drop in a big block with a 4-speed, and hopefully get it ready for some weekend drag racing.

He said he knows he probably won’t get picked because there’s nothing special about this car. Yet, he thinks it would be cool to show people that even a 24-year-old who has no clue how to restore a classic car can do it. He did it in his parent’s garage with limited space, time, and money, in only a year. This project is what Evan’s proud of most, and it’s not nearly where he wants it yet. He said he knows it isn’t a show car, but that it would still make a cool story.

Well, Evan, you were picked, and it was a good story!

"You guys were one of the only websites where I could find new parts for the car at a good price. I think 90% of this car is from ss396.com!"
