Garth found this 1972 El Camino SS in 2017 and has been working on it part time since then. It’s a real 454 SS 4 speed example. It is basically the twin to Garth and his wife’s old ’70 Chevelle SS that they had when first married.
He’s been diligently getting the triple black El Camino into top form since bringing it home, rebuilding the engine and transmission and replacing a lot of interior parts with new reproductions. Vintage Air has been added as well. The exterior has had some paint touched up and buffing/cleaning, along with new bright trim to match.
As much as Garth and his wife like this El Camino, they don’t intend to keep it forever, saying:
“We bought this one to refurbish it and then find someone else to love it. I believe these great cars need to live on and be enjoyed.”

That’s certainly a better mindset than putting it in a hermetically sealed bubble locked in a climate control garage to only see daylight once a year!
