Gary found this 1972 Chevelle sitting in the impound lot of his local Chevrolet dealership. He inquired about buying it. He was told it was a customer’s car and that they never paid the bill.
Well, 2 years later, he found it in a wrecking yard against a fence, and he ended up buying it for $400 and restored it for $6,000 total.
It’s an all-number match 1972 Chevelle SS454 LS5 with the original turbo 400 3.31 12 bolt. Everything is original other than, an LS6 cam, head work, and trans rebuild with a Trans-go stage 2 shift kit. It is still sporting the original Q-jet carb.
This car was a gauge delete car but came with a cowl induction hood and the sport mirror on the driver’s side.
He plans on upgrading the rear wheels to an 8.5″ wide instead of 7″ and trying to figure out what size tire fits without modification to the inner fenders or jacking it way up in the back.
