German found this 1971 Nova on eBay about 16 years ago for a measly $4000 and he’s been upgrading it bit by bit ever since. Even Hurricane Sandy couldn’t keep him from finishing the build.
He went with a pro-touring approach for his 1971 Nova project rather than period correct restoration. It currently has a 5.3L LS1 with a Holley Brawler, mated to a TCI TH350 transmission. The LS1 breathes through stainless steel headers into a Pypes stainless exhaust system.
“It’s built for driving everywhere without issues.”
German
Accenting the pro-touring theme of the 1971 Nova are a custom front chin spoiler and a modified rear duckbill spoiler from a Camaro. The front suspension are QA1 coilovers which really dial in the ride quality.
“Built to spend time with my kids, family and friends especially at shows and events. Now it’s like family.”

German is thinking about taking things a step further for this Nova in the future. He wants to incorporate a mini tub kit in the rear along with a 4 link system and coilovers. That way, it will improve the handling characteristics even further and also allow a larger tire back there for more grip.
Once he’s a little bit older, German is thinking of passing it on to his son.
