Haydee says restoring her late brother’s 1968 Chevelle was more than just reviving a car; it was about breathing life into a piece of their shared history.
For over 20 years, it sat untouched, a silent witness to their loss and the passage of time. But as she brought it back to life, Haydee felt his presence with every turn of the wrench. This car, which once echoed with his laughter, now roars down the road again, a tribute to his spirit and the memories they shared.
It was important for Haydee to try and keep the Chevelle in its original form as best as she could, with the exception of a color swap from white to silver and an added vinyl top. She even rebuilt the original 307 engine.
Haydee’s future plans are to keep the Chevelle in the family and have her daughter learn to love this beauty as much as she has all these years! She hopes they continue to enjoy going to car shows and showcasing their late uncle’s car for many years to come.
