Joe M’s 1973 El Camino

Built From The Ground Up

Joe M’s 1973 El Camino

Joe found this 1973 El Camino back in 2015 and he scooped it up, as he’s always loved El Caminos. It’s still a work in progress, as the 73-77 generation doesn’t have as much market share as the earlier years.

It still has the original 350 small block and TH350 automatic transmission, but he’s gone and beefed the engine up with a 4 barrel carburetor and a dual exhaust, among other things.

“It’s a lot like me. It works hard, plays hard, and is just a lot of fun.”

Joe

On the exterior, Joe’s added halo headlights and driving lights behind the grille to give it his own resto-mod take. The interior has received the resto-mod treatment as well with 2009 Corvette seats.

He’s on the fence with a few upgrades for the future, such as a more aggressive cam, positraction rear end, and a tbi system.

“I would love to turn it into a true show quality car.”
