John’s love for a 1970 Nova was first kindled in the heart of his sibling’s partner, Dennis, who owned a remarkable big block bench seat 4 speed. This experience left an indelible impression on him, who became an ardent admirer of these classic automobiles.
Several years later, in 1974, the speaker’s brother-in-law introduced them to a triple black 1970 Nova Deuce bench seat 4 speed, which was considered the epitome of cool. Without hesitation, the speaker purchased this beauty for a modest sum of $1,500.
Over time, the 1970 Nova underwent significant upgrades, including the installation of a powerful big block 427 engine, complete with SRP pistons, Eagle rods, and a COMP camshaft. The car now boasts all-new aluminum heads that have been thoroughly inspected and refined. The Muncie 4-speed gearbox currently employed will soon be upgraded to a Tremec 5-speed, while the rear-end gear will be replaced with a taller one.
John cherishes the countless memories of cruising and attending car shows, where they met many wonderful people. While the 1970 Nova may not possess any exceptional or unique features, it has provided a lifetime of enjoyable experiences.
Future plans for the car include suspension enhancements, an aluminum radiator addition, and more meticulous detailing of the undercarriage.
