John was tipped off about this 1966 Chevelle from some of the retired regulars at the local bagel shop one eventful day. They knew John was into cars and asked if he’d be interested, as one of their friends had recently passed away and his widow was needing to sell.
Being a fan of Chevelles, John agreed and they set up a time to view the car. Nearly seven months after the initial meeting, he had made the deal and began the process of restoring this 1966 Chevelle to his specifications.
He started the restoration in July 2018 and completed the project by May 2019. Initially he only wanted this Chevelle to be a driver car rather than a trailer queen, but once it had left the paint booth he knew he had something special on his hands.
“The car was labor of love and it came together well.”
John
This ’66 convertible is a true SS396 4 speed car and came equipped with many of the available power options that could be ordered. John plans to eventually add a Vintage Air system and rear disc brakes, once those are sorted he would consider the car to be complete.
