John’s 1966 Chevelle. Like many guys of his, uh, advanced age. He had spent the past 30 years or so thinking “if only…”. If only I’d kept that 71 Chevelle I owned back in the 1970s. If only I’d kept that Impala. If only I’d kept that (heaven forbid!) ’66 Mustang.
Finally, about a dozen years ago he sat up in his La-Z-Boy recliner and thought, “No more! No more what if’s!” He started his search that night and ultimately found a beautiful 1966 Chevelle Convertible, which he owns to this day. He has since supplemented by adding a Choo Choo Conversion El Camino.
This 1966 Chevelle is a 375HP SS396 with a mild cam and 400 Turbo automatic transmission. The only other additions he’s added are Vintage Air and a RetroSound throwback stereo system.
Well, it’s a convertible, and although not rare, has the correct redline Firestone’s and knee-knocker gauges.
The biggest modification will be the paint; currently a nice fire engine red, but his wife is partial to more of a burgundy, and what the wife wants the wife gets!
