This 1969 Camaro is the only confirmed original ’69 SS in Honduras according to the owner, Jorge Siwady. He obtained this Camaro in pretty bad condition during 2010, and it took a few more years get the restoration process started. Once he began tearing into the car, it became apparent that this was indeed a legitimate SS optioned Camaro from the factory.
Due to the difficulty of acquiring the necessary parts, Jorge would place several bulk orders with Ground Up SS396.com over the six years that the restoration took place. The process was slow going, but the end result was worth it.
Jorge’s ’69 SS is equipped with a fully refurbished 350 small block paired to the tried and true TH350 automatic transmission. Nearly everything on this Camaro needed to be replaced, from the entire interior to the brakes, fuel system, suspension, wheels, exterior trim, etc.
Consider that I am from Honduras and how difficult is to take the parts from USA to Honduras, everything on the car is new… The restoration was so slow and took about 6 years to finish and the result was amazing. The car looks, sounds, and rides very good!! I am a proud and happy owner of an original 1969 Camaro SS in Honduras.
