Around 2015, Kevin L spotted this 1963 Nova survivor for sale at a local cruise-in that he was attending. He spoke with the owner and they worked out a deal for the car.
Despite being a survivor in relatively decent shape, this 1963 Nova needed a ton of work to get back in business. Kevin and his father began the restoration by tearing the Nova completely apart, then cutting out and replacing both quarters with fresh sheet metal. The rest of the body wasn’t quite as bad, but there was still substantial body work to perform.
As to be expected of a survivor, this 1963 Nova required extensive refreshing and replacing of just about everything else, interior, motor, and transmission included. It now has a 350 small block and a 700R4 transmission providing the power.
Eventually, Kevin plans to convert the rear to a 4 link setup and eliminate the carburetor in favor of a fuel injection system.
