Around the year 1995, Kevin L picked up this 1970 El Camino from a friend and he’s had it ever since.
Unfortunately not much would get done to the 1970 El Camino during this period, as his mother developed Alzheimer’s and it sat for the following 15-20 years. Fast forward to April 2018 and Kevin finally began the restoration process with his son Schyler, as he had taken an interest in the old truck.
Kevin was motivated to begin work on the El Camino due to his son Schyler’s sudden interest in the old truck. The pair went on to complete a total frame off resto-mod of the El Camino over the next two years. It had reminded Kevin of the El Camino that his father had owned many years prior, so he was eager to share that with his own son while he could.
The frame off restoration was finally completed by May 2020, the El Camino now being equipped with a cammed small block 350 crate engine with roller rockers and upgraded timing gears and a mild cam, being put through a TH400 transmission. The engine also has intake, headers, and a Holley 750 CFM carb supporting it.
