While this 1967 Chevelle may not be a Super Sport, it is still nonetheless special. Kurt found it listed for sale online a few years ago and it caught his interest. This particular Chevelle is a 300 Deluxe with the original 283 ci small block V8 automatic with factory disc brakes.
Not only were there few 1967 Chevelle 300 Deluxe models produced for the year, about 2400 in total, but a very small amount of those were equipped with the often forgotten 283 small block. As the 300 Deluxe occupied the budget tier of Chevelle models, most were produced with one of the available inline 6 cylinder engines. This would help reinforce the “grocery getter” image that this trim level garnered.
Kurt was eager to restore the Chevelle and he undertook the process, finishing in under a year’s time. It received a fresh coat of the factory Nantucket Blue paint from Basic Body and Paint of Chalmers, Indiana and Kurt spruced up the interior to match the exterior’s new condition.
“This Chevelle is such a great cruiser and she gets her share of looks and compliments from others. Her name and tag is IC Blu”.

Kurt says that this car reminds his family of their daughter Kurtina Raenae’s first car from back in 1991. Hers was a 1967 Chevelle Malibu 283 automatic, very similar but of the higher tier trim.
