When Leon was 17 years old he owned a 1968 Chevelle Malibu. That first car was a red, non AC bucket seat console car equipped with the base 307 small block V8 and an automatic.
Unfortunately for Leon, it was hit and he was forced to sell the Chevelle. Over the next several years he would buy it back and sell it about 3 or 4 more times before he finally let it go. While he thought he was over it at the time, soon after he began to miss it and no longer had the chance at his original.
“The car is special to me it was my first car and it reminds me of my dad he passed away 11/12/13 so he didn’t get to see this one.”

Fast forward to approximately 30 years later and Leon found this black 1968 Chevelle Malibu on the Michigan Craigslist in 2018. While this example doesn’t have bucket seats or a console, it does have a 4-speed manual and a 350 hp small block 350 with 3.73:1 gearing. And it’s still a non-air conditioning car.
Unlike his first car, Leon plans to hold onto this Chevelle for the long haul.
“Drive it on all nice weekends stays in the garage the other time and it will be passed down to my daughter.”
