This beautiful 1969 Chevelle Malibu with a matching numbers 307 motor was inherited by his fiancee. So it’s mainly her car, but he’s just having fun restoring it.
His fiancee’s grandmother never took it on the freeway. It has always been driven on the city streets. The 1969 Chevelle was purchased from Courtesy Chevrolet in California. When her grandmother passed she left the car for his fiancee. His fiancee stored it for a little while under a carport. The car has been sitting in an enclosed property storage place for the last 8-10 years. They picked it up a couple of months back and now it’s in his garage where she will be fully restored.
Already completed on the 1969 Chevelle are tubular front upper and lower a-arms, a thicker sway bar, rear tubular tailing arms with sway bar kit,
KYB front and rear shocks, EZRide airbag system on the way, and a new 3-row aluminum radiator with dual fans.
Soon to come he’s pulling the 307 motor, transmission, and rear end out. Replacing them with a 383 Stroker dynoed 535HP, Holley Sniper EFI,
transmission built up TH400, and a rear end 12 bolt posi. After tuning it then the pro-charger will be implemented. The goal is to get at least 650-700hp.
Interior upgrades will include bucket seats, console, and add some speakers. Not sure how anyone could listen to one small speaker in the dash. No big stereo he’s just adding some kick panels and rear deck speakers.
The special part of this car is that it only had one owner and 25,340 original miles.
The interior is in great shape, but he’s going to start to perform the bodywork now. Which is very little to none. Just light door dings mostly. The color now is Butter Nut Yellow..(yuck..lol) Candy Apple Red will be the new color. The interior is already all black so that’s good. Even though there is very little to do it’s still fun.
