Les has been restoring this 1968 Chevelle for the past 5 years, working bit by bit to get it back up to spec.
He first found out about it when he was with a friend picking up some racing parts at the local store. The clerk told them he knew a guy with a ’68 that he was trying to sell, so they decided to check it out.
As it turned out, the person selling the 1968 Chevelle was an acquaintance of another of their friends. Conveniently, his friend had a trailer hooked up to his truck so the timing worked out. Soon enough, Les had the Chevelle on the back of the trailer and was headed home.
The car was just a shell at that point, but Les had put in the work to make it whole over the next few years. He had the frame sand blasted and powder coated, the whole body was worked over and restored on a rotisserie. It is currently sitting in primer awaiting paint.
So far, Les has sourced a 496 big block making 584 horsepower, and he opted to pair it to a 5 speed Tremec transmission. He’s also added a Vintage Air AC system while everything is apart as well as a brand new wiring harness for the car.
