Les M’s 1968 Chevelle

Les M’s 1968 Chevelle

A guy bought this 1968 Chevelle in New Mexico, in a local junkyard. Recognizing its potential, he promptly arranged for its transportation to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Les and his friend, were on their way to the city to evaluate a 1968 Malibu they had their eyes on.

During the visit they stopped at a dirt track race shop to procure parts for his friend’s race car, they found themselves engrossed in conversation. The shop personnel inquired if his friend happened to know Mike, in the racing circuit. As expected, his friend was acquainted with Mike, and to their astonishment, they learned that he had a 1968 Chevelle SS 396 available for sale.

The duo wasted no time and promptly contacted Mike the following day. They quickly organized their resources, including a car hauler and an enclosed trailer. Off they went on the two-and-a-half-hour drive. After some negotiations, they successfully struck a deal, acquiring the 1968 Chevelle.

Upon inspection, it became evident that the car’s shell was in exceptional condition, offering immense potential for restoration and customization. Notably, the 1968 Chevelle was restored with a new 496ci Tri Star Motor, generating an impressive 585 horsepower, and equipped with a new 5-speed manual Tremec TKO transmission.

What makes this car special is it’s almost brand new. As for the future of the 1968 Chevelle, Les remains undecided.
