Mark has had this 1970 Chevelle since 1972 when he was still in high school.
Despite his parents not wanting him to have it, his father co-signed for the Chevelle and it was theirs for the sum of $1675.
Mark’s parents were afraid that he would end up wrecking the car and dying, but thankfully that would not be the case. In the 48 years since, his father has passed on and Mark has had a memorial airbrushed on the back corner of the trunk in his memory.
As teenagers, he and his friends all loved cars as well as working on them and they were eager to participate in the old school street racing scene. Mark even says this was the fastest car in town at one point.
“Me and my buddies were into cars, and girls. This seemed like the best car for both… We would cruise the strip looking for girls, and a good race.”

Mark’s 1970 Chevelle still has the original numbers matching big block 396 and Muncie M21 4 speed transmission, and he has done some light restoration over the years. He has a little bit left to restore, and then he plans on driving and showing it as much as possible while he still can.
“48 years later we are all married with children, grandchildren, and some great-grandchildren. We now take our grandchildren out for cruise night. You have to love it!!!”
