Patrick bought this 1970 El Camino in high school and fixed it up as well as he could back then. Put a 383 stroker backed by Muncie 4 speed 3:42 limited slip painted it maroon with gold pinstripes. It was a great ride then Patrick sold it not once but twice and ended up getting it back as the people he sold it to never got it put in their name. Anyhow make a long story short got it back so that was his sign to rebuild it as he really wanted it.
When Patrick got the 1970 El Camino back, he had more knowledge and resources to do it right. So first he pulled the body off the frame welded it ridged and powder coated it. Then Patrick bought a stage 4 touring kit from CPP installed front tubular arms 2″drop spindles QA1 coil overs along with 13″ drilled and slotted rotors up front. Then an adjustable 4 link with a 12 bolt Yukon Posi unit and 10″ drilled and slotted rotors in the rear. For the drive train, Patrick went with a dart block scat rotating assembly with 10 & 1/2 to 1 compression for pump gas making a displacement of 406. The valve train is Howard’s roller and came with 202 aluminum heads roller rockers and girdles to keep everything aligned. The fuel system is a single plane manifold with a quick fuel 850 dp all making in the neighborhood of 550 horses. The power is transferred through a center force clutch to a track 5 speed.
The interior has cipher buckets with a 4-point harness to keep my butt in place, along with a custom console that houses a pioneer system that rocks all his classic rock songs. The exterior had all drip rails and door handles shaved with one-piece windows put in so Patrick could see out of dual bullet mirrors. The gas cover was modified to accommodate a locking billet cover to keep my fuel safe. After all the customization he had it painted gun metal gray with ghosted SS stripes. The rims are 18″ with the 40s in the back and 17″ 50’s up front with zr rated tires which corner like a slot car and it accurately like a race car!!!
Patrick’s plan is to really just cruise go to car shows and BS with other motorheads. Eventually, hand it down to his son and he hopefully hands it down to his kids.
