Paul was looking for a ’67 for a while. He was searching the internet when he found one with good bones, was running and a driver.
A 1967 Chevelle located in Columbus Ohio, July 2014.
In 1967 his brother Eddie owned a brand new 1967 Chevelle. So when he got the bug to own a classic muscle car, the 1967 Chevelle SS 396 was top on his list. Even though this car purchased was a ” 136 ” car it didn’t matter to him.
In October 2014, he started to disassemble the car, started a total restoration, and turned it into a ” 138 ” SS396 clone. Most parts are brand new. He even remembers the day he borrowed his brother-in-law’s pickup truck and drove to Ground Up in Connecticut to pick up a new SS hood.
The interior was completely restored and every wire in the car changed out to brand new ones! The dash was changed to an “SS” dash and all seats were rebuilt with new seat covers.
The suspension was upgraded to an F41 rear suspension and big block front springs for the 396. At the end of August 2016 after two years, the car was completed with his brother-in-law Jimmy painting the body in a factory ’67 color, Tahoe Turquoise.
Paul is proud as this project was his first and he did all the sanding and body prep, he touched every nut and bolt. He can honestly say
“He built this car, not bought it “

Now what is left to do is drive the heck out of it, go to as many car shows as possible, and cruise events.
