Phillip’s had this 1966 Chevelle since about 1997 when he picked it up from a newspaper ad. He hadn’t started the frame off restoration until 2016, taking 26 months to complete, but in his eyes it was all worth it.
The body was in bad shape by that point and needed extensive work. Luckily, Phillip became great friends with Hot Rod Heaven, the local restoration shop that performed the work over the course of those two years.
This 1966 Chevelle is mostly stock but has a Blueprint 496 engine and 4 wheel disc brakes, sitting on ’82 Camaro Z28 wheels. The factory 4 speed Muncie is enhanced by a Hurst Competition Plus shifter. That Blueprint 496 currently makes 482hp & 572 ft/lbs of torque.
Phillip had a 1967 Chevelle SS when he was younger, and has wanted another ever since. Now that he’s got this 1966 Chevelle all done, it’s going to stay with him and his family for awhile.
This car will stay in the family with my son and my grandson we really enjoy doing car shows and the car has been in weddings people really think its so nice and want their pictures with it.
